Why is modern medicine so backwards?

Most or all the medicine that treats ailments are just backwards in their thinking don't you agree? Like statins they reduce an enzyme in the liver that produces cholesterol when in reality their is an adrenal and insulin role that causes high cholesterol not to much liver enzyme. Most or all drugs are just whacked out another example is some diabetes drugs to reduce how much glucose is made in the liver when again in reality it's a cellular problem that caused insulin and cell receptors not working as they should. I mean headache medicine works but all the major drugs are just wrong and way off track.
